Visual AQL

AQL enables efficient data management solution and operational visibility. Visual AQL is part of the Visual IPI Platform.

What if you could write down the results for each feature you measured and automatically store the results in a database (SQL Server). What if the software checked that your results are in tolerance and automatically rejected those that are not. Visual AQL Inspection app utilizing Visual DPP digital pen & paper technology to enable this solution.

Visual AQL app is very simple to implement. The software utilizes digital pen and paper technology to collect all the measurement results from your manufacturing process. For example I might want to collect the results for a batch of 5 parts. This might seem simple to do but what if the part had 200+ dimensions and I can't use CMM for most of them?

The digital pen technology requires a color laser printer running a post script printer driver in order to print the specially formatted page and ordinary printer paper. The page has lots of tiny dots printed in a unique pattern that the digital pen can read. So when you write on the paper with the pen the special camera fitted in the bottom of the pen picks up the exact location of the pen on the paper. The technology also records the date and time each stroke of the pen takes e.g. when a result was recorded. In addition mistake proofing is built in by allowing the inspector to check a box for pass or fail making the process extremely accurate.

The hand writing is then converted to digital data, the pass or fail result is considered and this data is then compared with the feature requirement that has already been set up in Visual FAIR or Visual ABC. A result that is out of tolerance that an inspector checked as pass will be automatically rejected for example. That then leads to the icing on the cake for the product, when the pen is docked in the USB holder the device communicates with a server that converts the data into digital format and sends an e-mail of a PDF of exactly what was written on the paper. So this is both a notification that the batch is in progress and a point of reference as the PDF looks just like the paper was scanned in and all this was done by docking the pen.
